Ivonne Baki is an extraordinary figure with an impressive track record in politics and public service. Her passion for art led her to study at the Sorbonne, and later she studied Public Administration and Public Policy at Harvard University, demonstrating her dedication to learning and excellence.
His political career began in 1981 with his appointment as consul of Ecuador in Beirut, and since then he has played key roles in the diplomatic and governmental spheres. As ambassador of Ecuador to the United States during the Jamil Mahuad administration, she was fundamental to strengthening relations between the two countries, being the first woman to hold this position.
In addition, Ivonne served as Minister of Foreign Trade. Her commitment to conservation led her to found the Galápagos Conservancy, demonstrating her vision and leadership on environmental issues.
As an Andean parliamentarian and president of the Andean Parliament, Ivonne demonstrated her ability to lead and negotiate on behalf of her country. Her appointment as head of the negotiating team for the Yasuní ITT initiative reflects her commitment to the protection of the environment and indigenous rights.
In recognition of her outstanding work, Ivonne has been Ecuador's ambassador to several countries, including the United States and Qatar, where she has represented her country with distinction and commitment.
