It is part of the United Nations system, and its function is to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of nations. UNDP has published the report on human development or Human Development Index (HDI) since 1990. UNDP promotes change and connects the knowledge, experience and resources necessary to help people build a better life. It is present in 178 countries.
